Trump Says Some White South Africans Are Oppressed, Could Be Resettled In The U.S. — They Say 'No Thanks'

Afrikaner say no to TrumpGroups representing some of South Africa’s white minority responded Saturday to a plan by President Donald Trump to offer them refugee status and resettlement in the United States by saying: thanks, but no thanks.

The plan was detailed in an executive order Trump signed Friday that stopped all aid and financial assistance to South Africa as punishment for what the Trump administration said were “rights violations” by the government against some of its white citizens.

The Trump administration accused the South African government of allowing violent attacks on white Afrikaner farmers and introducing a land expropriation law that enables it to “seize ethnic minority Afrikaners’ agricultural property without compensation.”

The South African government has denied there are any concerted attacks on white farmers and has said that Trump’s description of the new land law is full of misinformation and distortions.

Zelensky says North Korean troops back on front line

ukraine says N Korean troops back on front line

Ukraine's president says North Korean forces have returned to the front line in Russia's western Kursk region, after reports they were withdrawn last month due to heavy casualties.

In a video address on Friday, Volodymyr Zelensky said the Russian army had "brought back in North Korean soldiers" who were carrying out "new assaults" in the region partially occupied by Ukraine.

He added "hundreds of Russian and North Korean military" personnel had been "destroyed".

In January, Western officials told the BBC they believed at least 1,000 of the 11,000 troops sent from North Korea had been killed in the past three months. North Korea and Russia have not commented.

Egypt lobbies against Trump plan to empty Gaza of Palestinians as Israel prepares for it

Israel prepares for more war crimesIsrael says it has begun preparations for the departure of Palestinians from Gaza despite international rejection of President Donald Trump’s plan to empty the territory of its population. Egypt has launched a diplomatic blitz behind the scenes against the proposal, warning it would put its peace deal with Israel at risk, officials said.

Trump administration officials have tried to dial back aspects of the proposal after it was widely rejected internationally, saying the relocation of Palestinians would be temporary. But officials have provided few details.

In a social media post Thursday, Trump said that the Palestinians would be “resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes,” after which Israel would turn Gaza over to the United States. No U.S. soldiers would be needed for his plan to redevelop it, he said.

Trump imposes sanctions on ICC, accusing it of targeting US and Israel

ICC has sanctions imposed by Trump

Donald Trump has signed an executive order authorizing sanctions against individuals and their families who assist the international criminal court (ICC), accusing the body of “illegitimate and baseless actions targeting America and our close ally Israel”.

Trump has been a vocal critic of the ICC since it issued arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant last November for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza, along with several Hamas leaders simultaneously.

The signing of the order coincides with Netanyahu’s visit to the US Capitol, which included an Oval Office meeting earlier this week.

It was unclear how quickly the Trump administration would announce names of people sanctioned.

Israeli military to create 'plan' for Palestinians to leave Gaza Strip

Israel has plans to eject PalestiniansIsrael's defense minister said European nations that accused the country of disproportionate attacks in Gaza are "legally obligated" to accept Palestinian refugees as Middle Eastern countries rejected President Donald Trump's proposal to relocate all of the enclave's residents.

On Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he directed Israel's defense forces to draw up "a plan that will allow any resident of Gaza who wishes to leave to do so, to any country willing to receive them." He said the army would provide "exit options via land crossings, as well as special arrangements for departure by sea and air."

Countries "such as Spain, Ireland, Norway, and others" that have accused Israel of disproportionate attacks on civilians and violations of laws governing war "are legally obligated to allow Gazans to enter their territory," he wrote on X.

TVNL Comment: Willl the world stand by as Israel completes its goal of ethnic cleansing in this land grab?  Yes they will.

Ukraine wants partner countries to join in postwar development worth billions

Russian attack against apartment buildingUkraine wants to collaborate with partner countries on postwar projects worth billions of dollars not just in mining rare earth elements, but also in energy and construction sectors to help rebuild the country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Wednesday.

Sybiha responded to comments by President Donald Trump who said Monday that he wanted to gain access to Ukraine’s valuable rare earth materials as a condition for continuing support for its war against Russia.

Ukrainian officials have said Russia wants to get its hands on Ukraine’s vast natural resources.

Kyiv intends to offer “guarantees of the presence of major businesses in Ukraine and the vested interests of our closest allies — the United States — in developing these (rare earth) deposits and ensuring their protection,” the foreign minister said.
