JD Vance endorsed a book calling far-left 'unhumans,' and praising fascist dictators

JD Vance endorsed extreme rightist bookBefore he was tapped as Donald Trump’s vice-presidential running mate, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, enthusiastically endorsed a new book by a far-right conspiracy theorist that praises fascist dictators for violently suppressing leftists − or, as the book calls them, "unhumans."

Vance was one of several prominent conservatives to blurb the book, which links current American progressives to past communists and other “unhumans” that need to be “crushed” by any means necessary.

“In the past, communists marched in the streets waving red flags. Today, they march through HR, college campuses, and courtrooms to wage lawfare against good, honest people,” Vance says in a blurb on the back cover of “Unhumans: The Secret History of Communist Revolutions (and How to Crush Them).”

Cori Bush becomes second 'Squad' member to lose 2024 primary as Democrats split over Israel

Cori Bush loses primaryRep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., suffered a bruising defeat in her St. Louis district on Tuesday night, becoming the second member of the progressive group of House lawmakers known as “the Squad” to lose a Democratic primary to a more moderate opponent this year.

Bush, a second-term lawmaker, was bested in the Democratic race for Missouri’s 1st District by St. Louis prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell, who was backed by a major pro-Israel group. The race was the second most expensive House primary in U.S. history, taking a back seat only to the contest earlier this year for Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s Bronx-area seat, according to the group ad impact.

Bell sought to frame Bush as out of touch with her constituents throughout the monthslong race and highlighted the multiple investigations into her campaign finances. But Bush’s criticism of the Israeli government, more than any other factor, came to define the campaign.

TVNL Comment:  This shows the power of AIPAC.  It's outrageous that AIPAC has not beenss forced to register as a foreign agent working for Israel.

Judge delays ruling on presidential immunity in Trump’s hush money case

Judge delays ruling until Set. 16The judge in Donald Trump’s hush money trial is pushing back a date for a key ruling on presidential immunity until two days before Trump’s scheduled sentencing.

The immunity decision had been due Sept. 6, with the sentencing set for Sept. 18. But then Trump’s lawyers asked Judge Juan M. Merchan last week to rule first on their renewed bid to get the judge to step aside from the case.

In a letter made public Tuesday, Judge Juan M. Merchan postponed the immunity ruling to Sept. 16 — if it’s still needed after he decides next week whether to recuse himself.

Merchan said the Republican presidential nominee is still due in court Sept. 18 for “the imposition of sentence or other proceedings as appropriate.”

Trump lawyer Todd Blanche and the Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is prosecuting the case, declined to comment.

Tim Walz is Kamala Harris' VP pick: Minnesota governor named running mate

Tim WalzKamala Harris picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her vice presidential running mate on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the decision, thrusting the outspoken Midwestern statesman into the national spotlight while adding a key ally to her fast-moving campaign for the presidency.

Walz, 60, brings political acuity, suburban-and-rural appeal and progressive patriotism to a competition where all three criteria are seen as helpful for Democrats to clinch a 2024 win against the Republican ticket of former President Donald Trump and and Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio.

Roy Cooper dropped VP bid over fears about extremist lieutenant governor

Roy Cooper

The Democratic governor of North Carolina, Roy Cooper, withdrew from consideration for Kamala Harris’s vice-presidential pick in part because he feared his extremist Republican lieutenant governor could try to seize power – or at least the spotlight – in his absence.

“Mark Robinson, the Republican nominee for governor, is the most extreme statewide candidate in the country right now,” Cooper told Politico in an article published on Saturday, as Harris prepared to name her choice to take on Donald Trump and JD Vance. Harris’s decision is expected before a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

“If I were to be out of state at a campaign event, if I had been the vice-presidential nominee, he could claim he was acting governor,” Cooper said.

Secretaries Of State Tell Elon Musk To Stop AI Bot From Spreading Election Lies

Elon MuskTop election officials from five states sent a letter on Monday calling for billionaire Elon Musk to stop the AI chatbot he created from spreading election misinformation on X, formerly Twitter.

The letter — signed by secretaries of state from Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Washington state and New Mexico — demanded that Musk “immediately implement changes” to X’s AI search assistant, Grok, “to ensure voters have accurate information in this critical election year.”

Musk revealed Grok on X last November, branding the chatbot an unfiltered alternative to large language models like ChatGPT. He had derisively called companies like OpenAI and Google “woke” for implementing guardrails intended to help the tools more carefully approach sensitive and controversial topics.

“Please don’t use it if you hate humor!” xAI, Musk’s artificial intelligence company, said at the time of Grok’s unveiling.

US Supreme Court declines to halt Trump's sentencing in hush money case

SCOTUS upholds Trump hush money conviction-The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by the state of Missouri to halt Donald Trump's upcoming sentencing for his conviction in New York on felony charges involving hush money paid to a porn star and left a related gag order until after the Nov. 5 presidential election.

The decision by the justices came in response to Missouri's lawsuit claiming that the case against Trump infringed on the right of voters under the U.S. Constitution to hear from the Republican presidential nominee as he seeks to regain the White House.
