President Donald Trump was visibly displeased Tuesday when a reporter asked him whether he would consider pardoning Michael Cohen, his longtime personal lawyer who is the focus of a criminal investigation but has not been charged with any crime.
Jonathan Karl, ABC News' White House correspondent, asked the question during an Oval Office meeting between Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
"Stupid question," Trump responded.
In a Saturday morning Twitter tirade, Trump blasted The New York Times for a story published Friday saying Cohen is likely to cooperate with federal investigators on work he did for the president. In response to claims in the Times’ article that Cohen may no longer have any loyalty for a man who treated him “like garbage,” Trump on Saturday praised Cohen as a “fine person with a wonderful family.”
TVNL Comment: Isn't this an admission of guilt? Trump clearly acknowledges that there is something Cohen knows that he can flip for. This also appears to be an open case of witness tampering. It's time for the thug in the WH to step down and go into hiding.
Leaders at the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police instructed detectives to carry riot gear should protests break out if President Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller.
The directions came Wednesday, reports CBS Pittsburgh, in a memo from Pittsburgh Police Commander Victor Joseph.
"There is a belief that President Trump will soon move to fire Special Prosecutor Mueller," he wrote to agency detectives, saying the department received information on at least one possible demonstration. "This would result in a large protest within 24 hours of the firing."

President Trump's legal team has reportedly reached out to veteran Republican attorney Theodore B. Olson in the hopes of bringing him aboard as they deal with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Olson is reviewing the offer, though he personally declined to comment. He has previously declined an offer to join Trump's legal team.
Olson, 77, served as solicitor general in George W. Bush's administration and as assistant attorney general in charge of the office of legal counsel in the Justice Department from 1981-1984.
The offer to Olson is the latest indication of a shift in how the president's legal team approaches the Mueller investigation.
